“The Wireless” (“Les Sansfil” in French) is an animation show that showcases a regular, run-of-the-mill doll family ; and by regular, we mean “dysfunctional”. A loudmouth, lazy father, a neurotic, bipolar mother, a smart, but gullible son, a retard daughter (yes, we said retard) and a best friend/neighbour in the form of an elephant. All these colourful characters pursue one goal : to live their lives to the fullest because, sooner or later, they will all be put out to pasture, i.e. put on a dark shelf in the basement or, worse, on the bottom shelf of the toy closet at the local kindergarten, only to be abused by sick, spoiled, snot-nosed brats !
Although the series could be seen as Canada’s answer to South Park and Team America , it actually captures a bold new universe that will be filmed in our patent-pending FIGURIN-O-RAMA©, a unique, simple and exciting new way to create images or, put differently, a poor man’s stop-motion animation.
Nothing comes close to “The Wireless” when it comes to transforming ordinary life problems into adventures of biblical proportions. This dysfunctional family may be called upon to thwart an international terrorism plot, an assassination attempt on the Pope or a character assassination on the NHL !
Of course, if these lifeless dolls do manage to save the world, it won’t be because they intended to.
